ધ્વનિકાર આનંદવર્ધન, ખરે જ એક ઘણા વિચારસમૃદ્ધ કાવ્યશાસ્ત્રી છે ને એમના ઘણા વિચારો આજેયે પ્રસ્તુત બની શકે તેમ છે. જેમને આનંદવર્ધને ઉદાહૃત કરેલાં કાવ્યખંડો એના દેશકાળથી ઊંચું – સાર્વત્રિક – મૂલ્ય ધરાવતાં લાગ્યાં નથી, એમનેયે એમણે પ્રસ્તુત કરેલા પરિષ્કૃત અને સૂક્ષ્મ-તીક્ષ્ણ કાવ્યવિચારો સાર્વત્રિક મૂલ્ય ધરાવતા લાગ્યા છે. ^[1]
