‘કાવ્ય-આચમન’ શ્રેણી

સંપાદકીય

હિમાલયમાં જન્મી, દરિયાને મળતી ગંગાની જેમ ગુજરાતી કવિતા વહેતી રહી છે. એમાંથી કાવ્ય-આચમન કરવાનું મન થયું. આચમન કરતાં જ કાવ્યભૂખ જાગી. ઇન્ટરનેટયુગ તો એકવીસમી સદીમાં વિકાસ પામ્યો. વીસમી સદીમાં તો કાવ્યભૂખ સંતોષવા ‘નગરી નગરી દ્વારે દ્વારે ઢૂંઢું રે સાંવરિયા’ની જેમ, ગ્રંથાલય ગ્રંથાલય ફરવું પડતું. કોઈ કાવ્યગ્રંથ ક્યાંય ન મળે તો છેવટે ગૂજરાત વિદ્યાપીઠ, ગ્રંથાલયનો કૉપીરાઇટ્સ વિભાગ ફંફોસવો પડતો.

ગુજરાતી કવિતાના દરિયામાં મરજીવાની જેમ અનેક વાર, વારંવાર ડૂબકીઓ મારી છે. મોટે ભાગે ખાલી છીપલાંના ઢગલેઢગલા હાથ લાગ્યા છે, પણ કોઈ કોઈ છીપલાંમાંથી સાચાં મોતી મળ્યાં છે. એ મોતીમાંથી નાનકડો નવલખો હાર કરવાનું અને કાવ્યપ્રેમીઓને ધરવાનું મન થયું. એમાંથી આ ‘કાવ્ય-આચમન શ્રેણી’નો વિચાર સ્ફુર્યો ને થયું, ગુજરાતી કવિતાના મહાઅન્નકૂટમાંથી પડિયા ભરી ભરીને પ્રસાદ વહેંચ્યો હોય તો? એક એક કવિ લઈ, એમનાં સમગ્ર કાવ્યોમાંથી પસાર થઈ, એકાદ પડિયામાં માય એટલો કાવ્યપ્રસાદ લઈને વહેંચીએ, ‘ગમતાંનો ગુલાલ’ કરીએ.

કાવ્યપ્રસાદના નાનકડા પડિયામાં બધી વિવિધ વાનગીઓમાંથી પસંદ કરીને જરી જરી મૂકી છે. આથી કેટલાંક ઉત્તમ કાવ્યોનો પડિયામાં સમાવેશ ન થાય એવુંય બને. પણ દરેક કાવ્ય નીચે એનો સ્રોત આપ્યો છે. વધારે પ્રસાદની ઇચ્છા થાય એ મૂળ કાવ્યસંગ્રહ સુધી જઈ શકે. દરેક કવિનો અને એમની કવિતાનો એક વિલક્ષણ લાક્ષણિક રેખાઓવાળો ચહેરો ઊપસે એ રીતે કાવ્યોની પસંદગી કરાઈ છે. ક્યારેક, શુદ્ધ કવિતાની દૃષ્ટિએ કોઈ કાવ્ય ઊણું ઊતરતું હોય એવુંય લાગે, પણ એમાં, ભલે સીધાં કથન દ્વારા, ઐતિહાસિક-સાંસ્કૃતિક-ભારતીય સંદર્ભો પમાતા હોય તો તેવી રચનાઓમાંથીય કેટલીક આમાં સમાવી છે. દરેક કાવ્યગ્રંથમાં અંતે કવિ તથા એમની કવિતા વિશે પરિચયાત્મક આસ્વાદલેખ મૂક્યો છે. આ ‘કાવ્ય-આચમન શ્રેણી’ સહૃદય ભાવકોમાં કાવ્યભૂખ જગવશે એવી શ્રદ્ધા છે.

કાવ્યપ્રેમીઓને આ કાવ્યપ્રસાદ ઈ-બુક રૂપે આંગળીના ટેરવાંવગો કરી આપવા બદલ મિત્ર અતુલ રાવલ તથા એકત્ર ફાઉન્ડેશનનો હૃદયપૂર્વક આભાર માનું છું.
